Privacy policy

Effective 17 October 2026. Applies to the Postr browser extension and this website.

The short version

Postr doesn't collect, store on a server, sell or share your browsing data. It has no account system, no analytics and no ads. The only thing that ever leaves your browser is your Pro licence key, and only when you choose to activate Pro.

What Postr reads, and where it stays

Postr Pro and Polar

Postr Pro is sold by Polar, which acts as merchant of record and handles payment, receipts, tax and refunds. When you buy Pro, Polar processes your payment details and email address under Polar's privacy policy. As the seller, we can see the name and email address on your order.

When you activate Pro, Postr sends your licence key and a device label (for example "Postr on Brave (macOS)") to Polar's API to check the key is valid, and re-checks it about once a day. Nothing else is sent.

This website and the uninstall page

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages and uses no cookies or analytics. If you uninstall Postr, your browser opens a short goodbye page on this site. GitHub may log standard request data such as IP addresses under GitHub's privacy statement.

Chrome Web Store user data policy

Postr's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only for Postr's single purpose of blocking feeds while keeping publishing pages available, and is never sold, used for advertising or used to determine creditworthiness.

Deleting your data

Removing Postr from your browser deletes everything it stored. To deactivate a licence first, open Postr's settings and choose "Deactivate on this browser".

Children

Postr is not directed at children under 13.

Changes and contact
